Picture it: you pull into the driveway in a brand new Range Rover, and there's still a stack of gold to decide what to do with. Here's what the terms actually say about getting there.
Car or gold? Sometimes you choose
Endeavour Pay Day draws let the winner pick: two Toyotas plus gold, or $200,000 in gold bullion instead (both worth exactly $200,000 in draw 222). Mater and Yourtown packages come with cashable gold included as well as the car.
What's included with the car
It varies. Endeavour's Toyotas include registration and on-road costs. Yourtown 1159 includes 12 months QLD rego, but you need your own comprehensive insurance before handover. Check each draw's terms for the details.
Picking it up
Prizes are usually handed over in Brisbane (Yourtown's are "ex Brisbane"; Endeavour's Toyotas are collected from a Brisbane dealer). If you live interstate, getting there or shipping the car home is generally up to you.
About that gold
Gold is valued at its purchase price on draw day. If you sell it, the price may have moved, and there are selling costs (Yourtown's terms say about 2 to 2.5%). Lovely problem to have, but worth knowing.
Bonus draws and extras
Most car draws have extras: Mater adds a gift card draw for 3+ tickets, Yourtown's MultiChance adds up to $10,000 more gold for 10 tickets, and early bird draws reward buying before a set date. They're separate prizes; your odds for the car stay the same.
Tax on a prize car

For $100, Endeavour Pay Day 222 has the best odds of the open car draws at 1 in 10,000 (20 tickets, from a cap of 200,000). Yourtown 1159 is 1 in 18,000 for 10 tickets, and Mater Cars for Cancer 131 is 1 in 30,074 for 3 tickets. Odds assume every ticket sells.
How much are car raffle tickets?
Endeavour Pay Day tickets are $5 each, Yourtown car draw tickets are $10 each and Mater Cars for Cancer tickets are $30 each. Buying more tickets adds bonus prizes in some draws, like Yourtown's MultiChance extra gold for 4, 6 or 10 tickets.
How do you win a car in Australia?

Are charity car raffles in Australia legit?
Yes. The draws on this page are licensed lotteries run by long-standing charities: Mater (QLD licence 29792), Endeavour Foundation (QLD licence 29762) and yourtown (QLD licence 29586), with permits in other states listed in each draw's terms. Always buy from the charity's official site.
